Mary Beeton, Head of Residential Sales and Residential Development celebrates 20 years at Hamptons

Mary Beeton, Head of Residential Sales and Residential Development celebrates her twentieth year at Hamptons. Mary is part of the company's all-female Executive team and sits alongside, Lesley Cairns as Managing Director and Catherine Westerling, Head of Lettings.

Beginning her foray into property in the mid-nineties, Mary joined Hamptons in 2003 at a time when Tony Blair was Prime Minister, a pint of milk was 36p, and the average property price in London was £233,190.*

After some record-breaking years in the Wimbledon Village branch as Associate Director, Mary rose the ranks to Regional Director in 2010, overseeing branches in North, South, and East of London, before being promoted to Head of Sales for London in 2016. In 2020 Mary was promoted to company Head of Sales, with the business's newly bolstered Residential Development arm falling under her remit shortly after. Mary is now responsible for 92 branches and 12 land and new home hubs that make up Hamptons Residential Sales and Residential Development divisions.

A keen environmentalist and passionate about the planet we call home, Mary formed Project Planet in 2018. This is an internal working group committed to making the business and its practices more sustainable. To date, the group with Mary at the helm has planted 2,871 carbon absorbing Mangrove trees, made each of Hamptons' 96 branches a Refill station, and donated £12,000 to the Marine Conservation Society. These larger-scale changes sit alongside many other smaller, day-to-day improvements aimed to address and promote change.

Lesley Cairns, Managing Director at Hamptons: "I'd like to congratulate and thank Mary for an amazing career with endless achievements along the way. Your passion, drive, and ambition were apparent from the start, notably taking the Wimbledon branch to dizzy new heights, and most recently leading the Sales division through one of the most historic, but best years in their history. Alongside Mary's countless successes, she is recognised as an inspirational, credible, and empowering leader. Thank you for the last twenty years Mary, and here's to the next!"

Mary Beeton, Head of Residential Sales and Residential Development at Hamptons: "It’s been such a privilege to play my part in Hamptons’ growth over the last 20 years and to work within such a supportive and ambitious business. The fact that those Wimbledon days feel like only yesterday evidence that time really does fly when you’re having fun!"

Mary sits on the board for CLEA and has been a judge for national property awards for the last two consecutive years. She regularly shares her property and career expertise speaking at key events and conferences, as well as panel discussions. Her speaking varies from being a keynote speaker at The House of Commons where she addressed Headteachers about ways to excite and inspire young people, to being the headline guest at an event empowering mothers returning to work. Mary also regularly takes part on panels to discuss her other passion project, sustainability in the property industry.
