Bloxham is a large ironstone village south west of Banbury on the A361 Chipping Norton road. The village is situated on two small hills with winding lanes and thatched cottages. Bloxham School is of a Victorian Gothic design which was founded in 1860 and now dominates the Banbury end of the village. At the other end is the impressive Church of St Mary, dating back to the 14th century. Within the village there is both primary and secondary schooling together with the aforementioned Bloxham School which is a public school with both day boarders and boarders. some of the sporting facilities are also available to village residents during off peak periods. More comprehensive facilities can be found in the nearby market town of Banbury together with junction 11 of the M40 motorway and a mainline railway station providing access to both London and Birmingham.
