About this branch

The Area

Weybridge town, formerly known as Webrugge in 1086, literally means bridge over the River Wey. It now forms part of the popular Elmbridge district which straddles the A3 at junction 10 of the M25 making it ideal for commuters for London and regular international travellers seeking to use both Heathrow and Gatwick airports. The town retains a village feel with its cricket green set between the Queens' road parade and High Street which boasts a wide range of shops bars and restaurants.

The town also has a superb range of state and public schools including the renowned St George's College and is also close to The ACS at Cobham. In addition to the colourful and varied high street, established superstores including Tesco and M&S can be found at nearby Brooklands.

Weybridge has superb transport links into the City, the West End and out to the Home Counties, with the motorway network (A3 & M25) providing access to London's principal airports. For commuters, Weybridge & Walton on Thames railway station provides services to Waterloo.

The area also boasts numerous leisure and sporting facilities including Burhill Golf Club, St George's Hill Golf & Tennis club and superb riverside walks along the Wey & Thames towards Windsor and Hampton Court.

Weybridge is located in Surrey - it's close to the UK's capital city, London. Weybridge is popular with those that work in central London because the house prices in the area are significantly cheaper than those in London itself - it's also a firm favourite thanks to the great local amenities in the area. Let's face it, central London isn't everyone's ideal place to live - Weybridge, on the other hand, has a much more relaxed vibe.

Transport links to London are particularly strong with trains running regularly via Weybridge station. There are lots of interesting pieces of trivia about the area too - including the fact Weybridge was the first place in the world to play host to a leisure campsite way back in 1901. Sports fans will be happy to hear that there is a raft of different clubs and teams in the area including a rugby club, a cricket club, a rowing club, a bowls club and even a canoe club. If sport is your thing, you'll never be at a loose end whether you prefer to observe or participate. There are various local schools too - great news if you're planning on moving into the area with a young family, or if you're planning on starting a family in the future.

The town is firmly established on the map thanks to the fact that companies such as Boots and Sony have headquarters in the area. Weybridge boasts strong employment opportunities of its own - so whilst many residents do commute
