About this branch

The Area

Windsor is a delightful town which surrounds the famous "Windsor Castle" the largest inhabited castle in the world. Renowned for its eclectic mix of cafes, bars and restaurants, Windsor is also surrounded by "The great park" which is owned by the crown and provides public access to 4500 acres of wonderful grounds.

It is popular with commuters to London and also with corporate tenants who work at the nearby commercial centres of Slough, Reading and London. There are excellent private and state schools for all ages.

The town centre of Windsor is ideal to take advantage of the many features that the historic town has to offer including the Castle and River Thames which provides a host of lovely riverside walks and cycle rides and sporting opportunities of sailing and fishing. Windsor has an expanding shopping centre, excellent transport links with mainline trains to London Waterloo and Paddington(via Slough). Windsor is also very close to major motorway networks including M4, M25 and M40, and within easy reach of Central London and Heathrow airport.

There are numerous leisure and sporting facilities including Rugby, football, cricket, tennis and hockey clubs with equestrian facilities close by.

Windsor is located conveniently close to central London. It's well connected to the capital thanks to the two train stations situated in the area - with one running direct serviced to London's Paddington station, and the other offering direct services into London's Waterloo station. It's not hard to see why Windsor is an extremely popular area for commuters to seek property in.

Situated on the south bank of the River Thames, Windsor is connected to Eton in the north by the Windsor Bridge. Windsor is home to lots of great tourist attractions including Windsor Castle - a place where the royal family frequently stay, and of course the world-famous Legoland - a favourite with children. Although not particularly rural, the area is also home to several fine walks, including the Long Walk up to Windsor Castle - a scenic route every resident and tourist should aim to enjoy at least once.

There are lots of great shops to browse in Windsor, selling everything from souvenirs to fresh farm produce. As well as the mainstays of most major UK high streets, you'll find lots of smaller, independently owned shops and boutiques in the area too, adding to the local charm. If the shops in Windsor aren't quite up to your standards then the bustling shopping districts of central London are only a brief train journey away - just another advantage of residing in this fantastic location. As you'd expect, Windsor is home to a great selection of property lettings - so no matter what your reason for looking for somewhere to live near London, don't bother looking anywhere else!
