What you need to know about short-term Wimbledon tennis accommodation

With Summer in the not too distant future, are you wondering where to stay during the Wimbledon's tennis tournament and when to start your search? Then look no further as we have answered our most frequently asked questions regarding where to stay if you're attending the Wimbledon Championships.

When should I start my search for somewhere to stay in Wimbledon?

As early as possible! At Hamptons we start taking rental bookings in Wimbledon from six months beforehand, but many enquiries come through four or five months before the Wimbledon Championships start. If you’re not ready to commit that early, don’t worry, we can also accommodate late bookings up to a month beforehand.

What is the minimum length of time that I can book a property for?

Bookings are for a minimum of two weeks and some owners can offer their property for up to four or five weeks.

Where should I stay if going to Wimbledon?

Most of our properties are within a 25 minute walk of the grounds, though some are a little further away. There are great transport links across Wimbledon so even if you are a bit further away from Wimbledon Championships, it’s an easy place to get to by public transport.

What is the closest tube to Wimbledon?

The closest tube to Wimbledon's grounds is Southfields on the District Line (a five minute walk to the grounds entrance) and Wimbledon on the District Line and Main Rail Line (a 25 minute walk to the grounds entrance). A shuttle bus service also operates just outside Wimbledon station, going to and from the grounds.

How do I know if a property will be suitable?

At Hamptons we visit every property at least twice to ensure it is up to standard and ready for your stay. All owners are committed to ensuring that your stay is as comfortable as possible and that their home is your home away from home.

What if something goes wrong during my stay?

It is unusual for something to happen during your stay, but as we will be managing your property during your stay, someone will be available 24/7 to help with any queries or emergencies that you may have.

Can I arrange for a cleaner during my stay?

We can arrange for one of our cleaning contractors to clean and change the bed linen. Our contractors offer competitive prices, but we need to know your requirements in advance to book a cleaning slot for you.

What happens if I have to cancel my booking?

There is no charge if you need to cancel your booking more than three months in advance. Bookings cancelled less than three months in advance will be subject to a cancellation fee, outlined in the booking form provided when you book a property.
