Biodiversity is key
One of the major garden trends in 2022 are natural, wild gardens that are typically home to a mixture of wildlife. People are moving away from the trend of highly designed outdoor spaces and are trying to make a conscious effort to grow plants that benefit wildlife. Planting wise, clients are veering towards more wild planting styles, which tend to be more relaxed and have a therapeutic affect.
Our garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show represents this trend as it is a Sanctuary garden that immerses people in tranquility and nature. This is something that people are trying to create at home in a bid to increase biodiversity.
Engage all the senses
Another trend for 2022 is the use of fragrant herbs. People want a garden that engages all of the senses, including the qualities of water, warmth, aroma, textural materials and aromatic planting. And, again the use of herbs also gives a garden a more natural look.
Celebrate urban gardens
No matter how small your space is, anyone can grow vegetables or herbs, even if you dont have any grass, utilise pots and herb gardens. So, whether you rent or own your property it's easy to do and beneficial.
Celebrate urban gardens
Here are our three favourite properties that showcase these trends:

Cranbrook Road, Kent
The gardens and grounds are beautiful, having been designed to reflect the magnificence of the house and to sit well within the surrounding countryside. Herbaceous borders are well-stocked with colourful perennials and specimen shrubs, knot garden with miniature box hedging and the rose garden with lovely old English varieties.

Main Road, Hampshire
There is a delightful parterre front garden formed of attractive, low rise box hedging. Set within the front garden are a number of apple trees. There is a paved pathway which leads down the side of the house to the main entrance porch and beyond to the rear garden. This is predominantly laid to level lawn with established planted borders and a paved sun terrace to the rear.

Ridgway, London
This beautiful rental property offers an urban garden with an excellent use of space. Perfect for entertaining, the kitchen leads on to the modern decked courtyard. Potted plants maximise the ambiance of the space without the need to plant a permanent garden.
