• Westminster is serving as the seat of England’s government since the early 13th century and the British government since 1707.
• Pimlico first gained popularity as a fashionable residential area following the development of the area by master builder Thomas Cubitt in the mid-19th century.
• The arrival of the underground in 1968 and further regeneration over the course of the last century have cemented the area as one of the most desirable in London.
• Westminster houses some of London's most famous landmarks including Big Ben, the Palace of Westminster also known as the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey.
• The classical squares and streets of Pimlico were created by Victorian master builder Thomas Cubitt.
• Pimlico is best known for its garden squares — Eccleston, Warwick and St George’s and the streets on the Pimlico grid - the roads running off St George’s Drive.
