Why move to Kingston?
It has a reputation for being current and having a lively atmosphere, thanks to a great selection of local pubs, clubs, restaurants and shops.
Architecture and property
Notable local buildings include the grade II listed neo-Georgian red brick Guildhall and the Tudor construction of Coombe Conduit which was part of a water system servicing Hampton Court Palace in the 16th century and is now maintained by English Heritage.
Shopping and amenities
Most major supermarkets are represented in Kingston and in addition to the shopping facilities the town plays host to a hospital, library, museum and even a Crown Court.Â
Going out
Those seeking entertainment can take in a show at the Rose Theatre or a night of laughs at the Crack Comedy Club, while fitness fans can choose from a number of gyms, including David Lloyd and Nuffield Health, golf courses and water sports centres on the river.
Green space
Although Kingston itself is quite built up, residents have easy access to vast swathes of open parkland. Visitors young and old will find delight in the expansive manicured grounds of Hampton Court Palace and the glorious tree-lined paths of Royal Bushy Park which can be found just a short distance away across the Kingston Bridge. Just to the north is the largest of the Royal Parks, the 2,500-acre Richmond Park, where families will enjoy spotting the deer and exploring the playgrounds.
