A spotlight on Tuscany

The rolling landscapes dotted with vineyards, olive groves, rustic farmhouses, slender Cypress trees and walled cities in Tuscany make it undeniably one of the best places to spend time in Italy.

So, when in, well, Tuscany, do as the… Tuscans do, meaning eating and drinking well is high on the agenda. The Chianti region sits in the middle of Tuscany and its famed slightly oaked and fruity wine goes perfectly with one of the areas best-known dishes too, wild boar ragu.

Aside from the food, no trip to Tuscany can be ticked off without visiting the awe-inspiring city of Florence, home of Renaissance art. From the domed Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore to the Uffizi gallery, it's easy to see why it's nicknamed the art palace of Italy. Then just over an hour away is Pisa where a trip up the leaning tower is a must, as is visiting the historic city of Siena, known for its famous Palio di Siena horse race.

If you’re looking to make the region more of a permanent home, we’ve put together a selection of our most fabulous Tuscan properties.

The property is just a 10-minute drive from Gaiole in Chianti, while the larger city of Siena is just half an hour away and Florence airport is about an hour's drive.
