A delightful and quintessential period cottage in the idyllic village of Alton Barnes. The spacious kitchen diner is the hub of the house and benefits from a Rayburn (as well as an extra hob for the summer months), which then leads into a cosy dual aspect living room with a woodburner. All of the ground floor boasts lovely wood floors. Upstairs, there are two excellent double bedrooms and a bathroom with a roll top bath. Furthermore, there is a lovely Summer House in the garden, which could be also used as an office, in addition to a separate utility room.
Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the village of Alton Barnes is quietly situated at the foot of the Marlborough Downs on the edge of the Pewsey Vale. The property is surrounded by beautiful countryside and offers excellent facilities for walking, cycling and horse riding. The village of Pewsey with its convenient train station (approximately 70 minutes to London Paddington) supermarkets, shops, bank, doctors and dentist is 5 miles to the east, whilst the larger town of Marlborough is 8 miles away with a larger range of shops, restaurants and supermarkets, including Tesco and Waitrose. There is good schooling in the area with Marlborough College, Dauntsey's, St Francis & St Johns all being close by.
The cottage benefits from private driveway parking, which leads into the glorious enclosed cottage garden that is mainly laid to lawn.
