Hamptons to sponsor the London Open Gardens

Leading estate agent, Hamptons, is proud to be the principle sponsor of The London Open Gardens first-ever virtual event, taking place on 12th June at 5:30pm. Given the circumstances of the pandemic, The London Open Gardens virtual event will be replacing Open Garden Squares Weekend. Since 1998, Open Garden Squares have been running an exclusive annual weekend event which allows its guests to explore some of London's finest green spaces that are not usually open to the public.

The 90 minute long show, presented by former Blue Peter presenter and keen gardener, Sarah Greene, will explore London's award-winning community spaces, formal squares, historic allotments and impressive rooftop gardens. It will be presented live from a London studio and will include interactive fun for its viewers. The programme will give viewers the opportunity to discover some of London's finest gardens including Cannon Bridge, a private rooftop terrace garden offering stunning views of London's skyline, and Ladbroke Square Garden, one of London's largest private garden squares which was designed by Thomas Cubitt in 1828; amongst many others. Garden owners will be on-hand to share their stories and the event will also include a quiz, a competition and a number of guest interviews.

Lesley Cairns, Managing Director at Hamptons: "We are delighted to once again be sponsoring an event which displays London's gardens in all their splendour. As the weather warms up and restrictions start to ease, this event couldn't have come at a better time. It is the perfect opportunity to celebrate some of London's great outside spaces and to give viewers tips on how to be make the most of their gardens.

Helen Monger, London Gardens Trust: "London is a wonderful green world city and nature has been a source of calm and wonderment during lockdown for many. As restrictions ease, the Trust is eager to celebrate the best of horticulture and communal gardening in the capital, giving everyone access to glorious hidden spaces. Our show will include new exquisite film footage of wonderful gardens which brings to life the joy of the natural world within the urban environment."
