Leading residential agency, Hamptons International has today announced that it has acquired ikon, a well-established and highly respected multi-discipline property consultancy, based in London.

The acquisition of ikon forms part of Hamptons International’s strategic ambition to grow and strengthen its professional services offering, particularly in the public and affordable housing sectors.

ikon is a professional residential and mixed-use consultancy focused on providing a range of services to private, public and registered provider clients working in the wider property and regeneration sector.

Established in 2005, ikon’s client list includes many of the sector’s larger organisations and major projects, including Greenwich Peninsula, residential development in the Olympic Park, and the new wave of direct residential development by inner London Councils.

ikon’s services cover the property cycle from development management through to technical delivery services (such as project management and employers agent) and broader property related consultancy advice. ikon has a particular speciality in public/private joint ventures and affordable housing.

Commenting on the acquisition, Alyn North, Chief Finance and Operating Officer – Hamptons International and Countrywide said: “We are hugely excited to be making such a key strategic acquisition and particularly one which is so complimentary to our current development services offering. We have been working with the team at ikon for a number of years with blue chip clients across all sectors of the property industry and this is a natural extension of what to date has been a tremendously successful association.”

Nick Cook, Managing Director, ikon, added: “Ikon is looking forward to this exciting new step for the company. Our work with Hamptons to date has been incredibly successful and we see many opportunities to develop and enhance our service offer to both our valued existing customers and new clients.”
