Leading residential agency, Hamptons International is to take part in London 3Peaks™ challenge with the aim of raising £50,000 for its charity partner, Cancer Research UK. London Three Peaks™ is the latest endurance fundraising initiative from Stand Up To Cancer, Cancer Research UK’s joint national fundraising campaign with Channel 4 which hopes to raise funds to get treatments to patients faster and culminates in a night of live TV on Channel 4 on Friday 17th October.
London 3 Peaks™ challenge takes place on Sunday 5th October 2014 and involves the ascent of three of London’s tallest and most iconic buildings – 30 St Mary’s Axe (known as the Gherkin), Salesforce Tower London (formerly known as the Heron Tower), and 200 Aldersgate. Participants from across the Hamptons International network will climb a total of 2,000 steps, run a total of 5k from one building to the next and abseil some 56 metres down the outside of the north building of 200 Aldersgate.
London 3 Peaks ™challenge forms part of a wider fundraising initiative aimed at supporting Hamptons International’s charity partner, Cancer Research UK. The money raised by the business will be used to accelerate progress in cancer research and brings breakthroughs from labs to patients more quickly.
Marc Goldberg, Head of Sales at Hamptons International says: “With a combination of over 2,000 steps to climb, a 5k run and the thrill seeking abseil at the end this is by no means a challenge for the faint hearted! Our teams will need both stamina and courage and I’m confident they have both.
We’re incredibly proud of everyone who has put themselves forward for this brave challenge and we’ll be supporting them every step of the way to ensure we hit our ambitious target of £50,000. Cancer Research UK is a charity very close to our hearts and we hope to raise as much money as possible in the year of 2014 for this incredibly worthy cause!”
Claire Rowney, Director of Stand Up To Cancer says: “We are really excited to have so many Hamptons International employees involved in the first ever London 3 Peaks™ challenge for Stand Up To Cancer. With people from all across the business taking on this tough event, as well as an ambitious company fundraising target, it is a great example of how our corporate partners share our determination to be bold and brave in the fight against cancer.”
