About this property

TENURE: Freehold

A fine 5 bedroom Grade II listed Medieval Hall house, reputedly one of Surrey's oldest houses, surrounded by attractive countryside and fields. This stunning property dates from the early 13th century and was originally two medieval halls. Further additions have been added in the 16th century including a parlour wing and a further brick extension added in the last century. It is constructed of brick and timber with bull-nosed tiles covering many of the elevations all under a roof of Horsham stone and clay tiles. The front garden is lawned with rose borders, an ornamental arbour covers the front path, there is a small lake (about 0.25 acre) surrounded by shrubs and trees. The rear gardens are mainly lawned bordering in part the lake. A patio area surrounds the conservatory.

The property is in an attractive rural setting approximately 1 mile from Capel which offers local shops, post office, public house, and infant school. The nearby village of Rusper also has similar facilities with two public houses. Dorking lies 8 miles to the north along the A24 with an excellent range of shopping and recreational facilities as well as providing a mainline station. Ockley station lies within about 1.5 miles, and this is two stops outside of Dorking. The larger towns of Guildford and Horsham both offer a more comprehensive range of facilities.
