The lodge is accessed along a sweeping footpath from the large communal car park passing the edge of the lake. Very well tended grounds surround the lodge placing it in an idylic location.
Originally designed by Sir Robert Taylor in the late 1740's, the main Georgian house sits in the centre of this gated estate. Providing a tranquil setting, there is access to the Thames path and delightful walks across the Chiltern countryside. Within the estate is the magnificent Donald Steele designed 18 hole private members Golf Club with clubhouse and dining facilities. There is also the award winning marina. The charming historic town of Marlow is a few minutes drive with its excellent selection of shops, schools, bars and restaurants. Links to the city can be found via the A404 to M4 junc 8/9 or M40 at junc 4 or by rail from Marlow or Henley to London Paddington. Heathrow airport is about 20 miles away.
From the main entrance of the estate the driveway leads down to the Marina building, river and the Lakeside lodges. Ample parking can be found in the car park. The accommodation is all on one floor and the open plan living dining room, which is triple aspect, has doors which open on to the veranda allowing the views, west over fields and meadows. There is a wood burner with brick surround and brick hearth. An opening from this area provides access to the kitchen, fitted with a range of wall and base units with integral washer/dryer, fridge/freezer and an electric oven with four ring electric hob. Bedroom one has an en suite bathroom with shower over and there is the main bathroom for use with bedroom two. A veranda completes the accommodation, and is perfect for all year round entertaining.
