Shrover Hall is an elegant and substantial Victorian country house having attractive stone and flint elevations and originally built in 1887 for Sir William Pink (a former mayor of Portsmouth). In recent years the property has undergone sympathetic restoration returning the house to its former glory and retaining many period features.
The generous ground floor accommodation includes an elegant drawing room, a stylish modern kitchen/breakfast room with bi-fold doors onto the veranda and gardens, and a superb family room, with secondary kitchen, leading out onto the pool and terraced area. A striking
balustraded staircase leading up to the first floor with a magnificent galleried landing, filled with light, courtesy of stunning arched windows and door giving access to the roof terrace. There are four well-appointed bedrooms, one having an en-suite shower room, and a well fitted bathroom. An inner landing leads to a further bedroom and bathroom, with stairs to two second floor bedrooms. An attached, three bedroom cottage, provides self-contained accommodation for guests, a dependent relative, or alternatively the opportunity to use as a let.
Shrover Hall is situated in a lovely rural location on the outskirts of the village of Denmead. The village has a range of shops for everyday needs and more comprehensive facilities can be found at Waterlooville, Havant and Petersfield. There are
mainline railway stations at Havant and Petersfield providing a regular service into London (Waterloo).
Shrover Hall is approached via a gravel driveway, leading to a parking area bordered by flint walls and wrought iron railings, providing parking for a number of vehicles. A stone flagged and decked terrace, with pergola, adjoins the house on the northwesterly side, where the fabulous outdoor pool is situated. A charming walled garden lies to the east of the property, with pretty gravel pathways through lawned areas and formal planting of olive and box trees. In all the gardens extend to approximately 1.8 acres.
