An attractive period country house estate standing in wonderful mature parkland grounds, on the banks of the river Mole, and at the foot of Box Hill.
The main house is both impressive and extremely comfortable. There are an excellent range of reception rooms, with wonderful high ceilings, open fireplaces, and views over the gardens. The magnificent drawing room is of particular note with an extraordinarily high ceiling, and elaborate cornice and plasterwork. There is a substantial panelled family/games room with shuttered French doors to the garden. Many original features remain with period shutters to large bay windows, and an elegant main staircase rises from the reception hall to a galleried landing.
Upstairs, the master bedroom suite has a large dressing room and additional extensive wardrobe space. There are then 6 further bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (1 ensuite).

The property is situated on the outskirts of Dorking opposite the famous Denbies vineyard. Dorking mainline station is a short distance away offering services to Waterloo and Victoria. Much of the surrounding countryside is owned by The National Trust and there are many lovely walks, including the North Downs Way close by. Dorking and Leatherhead town centres, with their excellent shopping and recreational facilities, are within easy reach of the A24. Both the Burford Bridge Hotel and the Stepping Stones public house are within walking distance of the property as is Boxhill, famous for its lovely walks and cycling (since its inclusion in the Olympics).
The house is approached via a gravel drive through secure wrought iron gates, sweeping to a large turning circle in front of the house. A spur leads to the garages and coach house.
The gardens lie to the east, west and south of the main house, with level lawns, topiary hedges and many mature specimen trees and hedges providing seclusion and a wonderful parkland landscape. The swimming pool is sheltered by a high red-brick wall, and is overlooked by the pool house with sauna, shower, wc, and changing room.
To the rear of the house the lawns gently descend to a stretch of The River Mole. The 3 bedroom lodge cottage is situated in a secluded position on the western boundary with the tennis court close by. Beyond this there is a substantial area of woodland and a former walled vegetable garden. Both the swimming pool and tennis court require renovation.
In all the gardens and grounds extend to about 9 acres.
