This is one of our Country Houses
In a tucked away position within the characterful village of Brasted, The Garden House is a charming, detached village house set within pretty gardens. With attractive external elevations of painted render with tile hanging and red brick, the house has contemporary styled interiors with accommodation in excess of three thousand square feet laid out over three floors. The majority of rooms have a dual aspect thereby allowing for views of the gardens and good natural light penetration and there are wooden floors throughout, except for carpeting in the first floor bedrooms. The sophisticated simple decoration is complimented by modern bathrooms and a comprehensively fitted kitchen with Italian Carrara marble work surfaces. Reception rooms lead from one to the other, whilst the family room lies directly adjoining the kitchen/dining room and in turn leads out to the conservatory. Bedrooms are arranged over the upper two levels and include a fine principal suite with a generous en-suite shower room and a dressing room, together with three further first floor bedrooms and two on the second floor. There is a family bathroom on the first floor and a shower room on the second.
The house is located in the popular village of Brasted, which has a pub, village shop and various antique and lifestyle shops. Sevenoaks, historic Westerham and Oxted offer further amenities, with the house located four miles from Sevenoaks station, which offers services to London from 24 minutes, 1.6 miles from Westerham and 6 miles from Oxted, which has connections to London Victoria. Access to the M25 (Junction 5) and A21 can be found north of Sevenoaks at the Chevening Interchange and leads to the major motorway network, Gatwick, Heathrow and Stansted International Airports, as well as the Channel Tunnel Terminus, Ebbsfleet International and the South Coast.
There is a private access drive from Church Road, leading to a five bar gate giving access to a parking and turning area in front of the detached garage. To the front, the garden is laid mostly to lawn with mature hedged boundaries. To the rear is a paved terrace, lawns and mature trees. A small gate leads to the riverside, whilst a gate elsewhere leads out to the area of delightful light woodland, which is shared with three other properties by way of a declaration of trust.
