Hatchways is a stunning New England style family house completed approximately 7 years ago to an exacting standard by the current owners. Georgian style windows relieve the painted elevations under a slate tiled roof. The property has a lovely light
and open plan feel with the three verandahs complementing the main reception rooms. A spacious light and welcoming reception hall leads to the main reception rooms having grey weathered oak flooring, of particular note is the impressive open plan sitting room having a fabulous outlook over the gardens through three
large floor mounted picture windows. The superb kitchen was designed by Roundhouse of Guildford and features a Wolfe Range Oven with indoor barbecue, Sub-Zero fridge/freezer with adjoining wine cooler and a Fisher and Paykel twin drawer
dishwasher. The rooms throughout the ground floor and first floor bathrooms benefit from underfloor heating. A most elegant sweeping Georgian style staircase extends to the light and spacious first floor landing leading to four generous bedrooms, the main guest bedroom having an ensuite shower room and the family bathroom. The master bedroom suite boasts a contemporary style wet room, dressing room and twin balconies overlooking the garden.
Hatchway is situated within the South Downs National Park in a lovely rural location just off a private no through lane approximately 2 miles to the south of the historic market town of Haslemere. There are a wide range of amenities in Haslemere catering for most day to day needs along with shops and restaurants, boutiques, public houses and coffee shops. The mainline station (approximately 2.3 miles away) offers a frequent service to London Waterloo in under an
hour. Schooling in the area is also excellent both privately and state run for most age groups. There is access to the A3(M) providing an excellent road link to London and the South Coast and via the M25 to both Heathrow and Gatwick airports. The area is renowned for its beautiful countryside which includes many walks and bridleways, as well as vast areas of land in the ownership of the National Trust. Other recreational facilities in the area include sailing on the south coast, golf at Liphook and Hindhead and racing at Goodwood.
The rear verandah leads to the main garden, being predominantly lawn interspersed with attractive flowerbeds, gently slopes away towards a large attractive area of Rhododendrons.
A further verandah to the side of the house presents a pleasant ‘al fresco’ barbecue area and from the front verandah extends a sun terrace area with steps leading to the swimming pool which is enclosed by wooden picket style fencing surrounded by a hedge. Adjoining the front verandah is an enclosed changing room.
Beyond the swimming pool is a further are of lawn interspersed with mature specimen tress including a Monkey Puzzle Tree, which in turn leads down a flight of steps to the detached double garage.
Also within the rear garden is a large and useful traditional wooden workshop being mainly screened from the house with strategic planting. The house is accessed from the private lane via a drive extending to a generous parking area and the double garage.
