About this branch

The Area

Paddington is most famous for the children's character Paddington Bear - a bear with a love for marmalade sandwiches and his duffel coat. Paddington is also home to the famous Paddington Station - a key cog in London's rail network and a hub for those arriving in London from the west of the country. Designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, there's even a statue of Paddington Bear situated inside the station itself.

Paddington also plays host to St Mary's Hospital - the birthplace of Prince William and Harry, and more recently Prince George. There's plenty to see and do in Paddington and the area is only two miles away from central London. There are lots of exclusive shops and restaurants, as well as a large number of hotels. Access to the rest of London is made easy thanks to the strong transport links in place including bus routes, tube trains and black cabs.

Along Edgware Road, you'll find the Church Street Market - a great place to buy fruit and vegetables along with other fresh produce. The Alexander Fleming Laboratory Museum and the Lisson Gallery can also be found in the Paddington area.

Paddington is a real melting pot of cultures and communities with large Arab, Asian and Jewish populations in the area. There's so much more to Paddington than just its railway station and a famous bear - scratch beneath the surface and you will observe first hand the rich culture and strong sense of community the area has to offer.
