About this branch

The Area

A delightful town surrounding the famous "Windsor Castle" - the largest inhabited castle in the world. Windsor is also surrounded by "The great park", owned by the crown and providing public access to 4500 aces of wonderful grounds.

The town is popular with both commuters to London and corporate tenants working within the nearby commercial centres of Slough, Reading and Uxbridge.

Windsor is renowned for its eclectic mix of cafes bars and restaurants. In addition, the historic town offers a host of lovely riverside walks and cycle rides together with numerous leisure and sporting opportunities. Rugby, football, cricket, tennis and hockey clubs are all close by as well as a wide choice of equestrian facilities. The town offers an excellent choice of private and state schools for all ages, an expanding shopping centre and various transport links - with mainline trains to London Waterloo and Paddington(via Slough), major motorway networks including M4, M25 and M40 and within easy reach of Central London and Heathrow airport.

Windsor lays to the south of the River Thames near central London. It's famous for popular attractions such as Windsor Castle - an official residence of the royal family (and also the queen's favourite weekend home). It's also home to Legoland - a popular resort for children that even boasts its own hotel. Windsor is a fantastic place to live thanks to the great local amenities on offer - it's also perfectly situated for those with work commitments in central London. The strong transportation links in the area allow commuters to get where they need to be with minimal fuss.

Traveling around London is one thing, but Windsor is also ideally situated for traveling to London's major airports such as Gatwick and Heathrow. It's also within driving distance of the UK's major seaports at Dover and on the south coast.

There's plenty to see and do in Windsor - going back to the famous Windsor Castle for a minute, the "Long Walk" up to the castle is enough to take your breath away - whether it's a crisp autumn day or a sunny summer's afternoon, the Windsor Castle in the distance always looks resplendent and imposing. There are lots of examples of architecture from key periods in British history including Georgian and Victorian times. A quick journey around Windsor will bring you up close and personal with fantastic buildings such as Windsor Guildhall and Cumberland Lodge.
