About this branch

Located in North London, Totteridge and Whetstone is a popular suburb of central London as it offers the best of both worlds, easy commute into town and wonderful rolling green belt land, not to mention our Ofsted Outstanding rated schools. The commute times into central London are quicker than most - something that really resonates with commuters looking for somewhere affordable to live in the London area.

Totteridge and Whetstone is linked to central London via the Northern Line and in to Kings Cross and Moorgate from Oakleigh Park Mainline, and of course a plethora of bus services.

Totteridge is an old English village, currently a protected picturesque residential area of the London Borough of Barnet in North London. It is a mixture of suburban development and open land (including some farmland) situated 8.20 miles (13.05 km) north north-west of Charing Cross. Totteridge has many spacious detached properties in a green setting that are highly valued; some of them are among the most expensive houses in London.

We’ve had some quite high profile residents over the years, both past and present which has included the rich and famous like Arsene Wenger, Frankie Vaughan, Des O'Connor, Cliff Richard, Mickie Most, Hank Marvin, David Dein and many top footballers.

Whetstone High Road not only offers a Waitrose, Marks and Spencers and an array of excellent and diverse restaurants and cafes, we also have traditional pubs, like the Orange Tree, Three Horseshoes and The Griffin Pub which dates back to the 15th Century when Whetstone originated from medieval times. Legend has it that the name stems from the stone that is placed outside of the Griffin Pub, where soldiers went to sharpen their swords before the Battle of Barnet.

There are lots of reasons why people choose to move into the area - although closely linked to the centre of London it's a fantastic place in its own right with a lively high street and a raft of local amenities, including the Everyman Cinema, exceptional Golf Courses, and green open spaces. Just a short drive up the A1000 takes you to High Barnet, the highest point until the York Hills, and access to the M25.
