The area of Sevenoaks is a thriving former market town sitting amidst glorious Wealden countryside at the foot of the North Downs. Famous for Knole House and its deer park, the town was founded in the thirteenth century with the name deriving from a Saxon word meaning a small chapel by seven oak trees, originally in Knole Park.
