About this branch

The Area

Farnham is an old English market town with narrow streets lined with some of the finest Georgian architecture in the South of England with a parish church and castle dating back to the 12th Century. With an intriguing history, the town is currently home to some 39,000 residents, and with over 200 busy shops and businesses, Farnham has something for everyone.

Buyers are attracted to the area by the delightful surrounding countryside, which includes the national park and the family-friendly Frensham Ponds amongst other attractions, along with the top local schools, both state and independent, which produce superb results and a wide range of approaches to fit the needs of most families.

For commuters, the areas around Farnham benefit from superb transport links via road with access to both the M3 and M4 and a mainline station with trains running to London Waterloo in less than an hour.

Farnham is a town in Surrey - it's just over 40 miles south-west of London. Farnham is famous for playing host to a broad range of properties including large, Georgian era homes. The town is overlooked by Farnham Castle, the town and the castle are steeped in history.

Being so close to the centre of London, Farnham is a firm favourite with those moving into the area to commute daily. Farnham enjoys strong rail and road links to the city of London, including a train that runs directly to London Waterloo. Other transport links of note include Gatwick and Heathrow airports. Farnham is just 30 miles away from Heathrow, and around 50 miles from Gatwick. It's also within easy reach of Southampton airport. These strong aviation links provide a gateway to the world.

There are lots of attractions in Farnham including the aforementioned castle that towers over the town. There's also Birdworld, the Museum of Farnham, Waverley Abbey and the Crafts Study Centre. A large number of local shops offer a fantastic selection of products for residents to browse - but if you can't find what it is that you're looking for, a short train journey into central London will expose you to a shopping experience on a much grander scale.

Living and working in central London isn't for everyone - that's why a lot of people opt instead to live in nearby suburbs such as Farnham where things tend to be a little more laid back.
