Get your strawberries and cream ready, the Wimbledon Tennis Championships are set to return this year from 28th June until 11th July. The Championships take place in the district of Wimbledon in southwest London and other than it being the place where the world-famous sporting event takes place, the area has lots more to offer. From the famous Common, to the village and the local theatre there are activities a-plenty. There are also many fabulous restaurants, bars and pubs to work your way through and be enjoyed with family and friends.
The Wimbledon Championships are taken very seriously, particularly in the local area and for a month in the run up to and over the event, the high street is adorned with All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club flags. A Tennis Windows competition is also carried out and shops, restaurants, cafes, offices etc. decorate their windows for the event. This attracts enormous interest from the world’s media and creates a vibrant atmosphere during the tennis season. This year the Hamptons Wimbledon branch will be taking part in the competition and we will also be hosting an open air drinks party for Hamptons’ clients during the first week of the tournament.
