Home working

Following the extraordinary events of 2020, it seems as though working from home is something which many of us will have to get used to. Not only have we never had to work harder at home, our homes have also never had to work harder either – kitchens have become offices and dining rooms have become classrooms. It is important to ensure the space you surround yourself in is both practical and comfortable, this will not only improve productivity but will also have an impact on your overall wellbeing.

It can be tricky to find a work space that works harmoniously in a domestic setting, but when trying to find that perfect spot, one thing to bear in mind is light. The benefits of natural light boosts your productivity, keeps you alert and increases your mood. Additionally, try finding a space in your home that adds a pop of colour, this could be greenery or art work.

While your work space is key in helping you be productive and stay motivated, it is also important to focus on yourself. Your overall wellbeing can be most influential to your performance and positive attitude. Although kitchen catch-ups and office chit-chat cannot be replaced, it is important to stay connected and communicate frequently with your colleagues over the phone or via video call. Additionally, a great way to keep up your energy levels is to take regular breaks and get fresh air when you can.

Finding the perfect workspace in your home can be challenging but not impossible, take a look at a few of our favourite home offices that we had on the market for sale or to let:
