A fresh lick of paint is always a great place to start if your home is feeling a little tired, not only is it worth painting inside, but you might also want to do some touch ups to the outside of your property. When it comes to choosing paint colours this is a real opportunity to put your stamp on your home, but if you are thinking of selling or renting your property soon it is worth picking more neutral tones.

Your front door is one of the first things that visitors will notice, so make sure yours makes a good first impression. If your front door is looking a little tired, be sure in the first instance to give it a good clean, then a new coat of paint and if you really want to go all out you could even buy and fit a new door knocker and letter box.

Gardening

If you are lucky enough to have a garden then it is definitely worth your time to make sure you keep it in good condition. If you are not an avid gardener consider easy to keep plants and a paved or decked seating area to ensure minimum upkeep, if you do add a seating area be sure to find the spot in your garden that gets the most sunlight. If you enjoy a day spent gardening then make sure you keep on top of mowing the grass and you might want to add some extra flowerbeds.

Kitchen

With the kitchen being the centre point and most used room of most homes, you might feel that yours needs a bit of an update. But, you might not want to fork out for a new kitchen if you are thinking you might be moving in the near future, so a good compromise might be to paint your kitchen cabinets.

Bathroom
