Leading residential agent, Hamptons International has raised over £20,000 for charity partner, Cancer Research UK following the London 3 Peaks Challenge. The London 3Peaks™ challenge is the latest endurance fundraising initiative from Stand Up to Cancer, Cancer Research UK’s joint national fundraising campaign with Channel 4. Stand up to Cancer will culminate in an evening of fundraising live on Channel 4 on Friday 17th October.
The London 3Peaks™ took place on Sunday 5th October and involved the ascent of three of London’s tallest and most iconic buildings – 30 St Mary’s Axe (known as the Gherkin), Sales Force Tower London (formerly known as the Heron Tower), and 200 Aldersgate. Forty participants from across the Hamptons International network took part, climbing a total of 2,000 steps, running a total of 5k from one building to
the next and abseiling some 56 metres down the outside of the north building of 200 Aldersgate.
London 3Peaks™ challenge formed part of a wider fundraising initiative aimed at supporting Hamptons International’s charity partner, Cancer Research UK. The money raised by the business will be used to accelerate progress in cancer research and brings breakthroughs to patients more quickly.
Marc Goldberg, Head of Sales at Hamptons International says: “We’re hugely proud of everyone that took part in the London 3Peaks™ challenge over the weekend and would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who donated so generously and helped us smash through the £20,000 barrier. We had great weather on the day and huge support from the crowds; we were delighted to see so many friends, family, colleagues and members of the community cheering our teams on. Cancer Research UK is a charity very close to our hearts and we’re thrilled with the money raised for this worthy cause.”
Caroline Silke, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Cancer Research UK says: “Hamptons International has done an absolutely fantastic job of rallying its team of 40 participants for the first ever London 3 Peaks™ event. They all did so well on the day – every single person finished with crowds of family and friends cheering them through the tough course. The money they have raised so far is an incredible amount of money that will help us fund translational research, to take breakthrough cancer treatments from labs to the patients that need them.”
