Latest figures from leading residential estate agent, Hamptons International, highlight that last year, four out of 10 Londoners moved out of the capital with nearly half taking up residence in the South East and South West. To respond to this increased motivation, Hamptons International hosted a successful ‘Country Roadshow’ event on Saturday across key London locations – Chiswick, Richmond, Battersea and Muswell Hill.
The event provided those living in the Capital with a first look at a selection of beautiful country homes available to buy and rent in prime areas of the countryside. The hosting branches had property experts from various country and commuter belt locations on hand offering a comprehensive view of chosen areas, as well as providing information on important influencing factors such as the top performing schools, commuter times and property values.
Marc Goldberg, Head of Sales at Hamptons International says:“With the average age of Londoners moving to the country currently standing at 32, family life is one of the main driving forces for a move to the country. Furthermore, the 30 to 40 age group makes up a total of 27 per cent of all moves out of London, reinforcing that it is growing families in search of more space and good schools acting as a primary motivator for their move.
“With this in mind we were delighted to be able to provide a one stop shop for time-poor Londoners to get a flavour for the sales and rental properties available in the country, as well as offering them a comprehensive view on top performing state and independent schools and great advice on property prices for their chosen areas.
“The day was a fantastic success: face painters were on hand to keep the children entertained whilst regional experts met and advised those families who were looking to learn more on their chosen patch.”
