Hamptons International, one of the UK’s premier residential estate agents, has announced the launch of a new specialist Waterside property division.
Established to meet a growing demand from buyers and tenants for waterside properties, Waterside by Hamptons International is a collection of the very finest waterside properties across the Hamptons Sales and Lettings networks, from riverside penthouses to country houses on private lakes. It will seek to showcase the features which make properties on the water so unique through a dedicated website page and search functionality.
To mark the launch of the new division, a Hamptons International study has revealed the premiums associated with waterside living. According to the results of the Hamptons International branch survey, properties by water are 18 per cent more expensive in London than similar properties which do not have a water feature. Across the Country branches, this premium rises to 21 per cent.
A separate Hamptons International study of rents conducted recently for a new Central London development revealed that waterside views were worth 13 per cent more on average and as high as 16 percent for three bedroom properties compared with other units on the same floor. For landlords, this translates to nearly £50 extra per week for a one bedroom property and more than £130 per week for three bedroom flats.
Neal Wood, Head of Waterside Country Sales at Hamptons International, commented: “Waterside homes attract a diverse array of buyers and tenants who are searching for a home by the water for a whole host of reasons – beautiful views, a calming influence, leisure activities are just a few of the benefits reaped from a waterside home.
We are very pleased to meet the demands of our clients by offering a wide range of waterfront homes, not only on the Thames but other waterways and next to the seafront.”
Simon Wood, Head of Waterside London Lettings at Hamptons International, added: “The launch of Waterside by Hamptons International gives landlords a wonderful opportunity to showcase their waterside property in one easy search facility.
Properties situated along the Thames or properties with water features included have long been popular with tenants. The ability to filter for this type of property on our website will help to simplify the search process even more.”
