The Old Mill, which continued to be used as a working corn mill well into the 20th Century, dates back to the 17/18th Century with later additions, although the earliest written record of a mill on that site is 1279.

There is a 12th century church of Saint Mary and Saint Edburga and the Red Lion public house within the village. Commuter rail services can be found at Bicester main line station bound for Marylebone, the M40 junction 9 is approximately 9 miles. Extensive shopping facilities are at Bicester, including the renowned retail park, Bicester village.
The Old Mill benefits from large mature gardens with a stone-paved terrace area that can be accessed through the French doors from the kitchen, providing an excellent entertaining space. Stone steps lead up to the formal lawned area which is southwest-facing. The original mill stream still runs through the garden splitting the lawned areas.
