The origins of Silverstone are long standing. At one point in early history, it lay deep in the heart of the ancient Whittlewood Forest, where its inhabitants made their living from charcoal-burning and other woodland crafts. The forest was rich in game and in the 12th Century a royal hunting lodge was in use in the centre of the village by King John.
Today of course the village is famous throughout the world for the Silverstone racing circuit, hosting Formula 1 and other major motoring events throughout the year.
Within the village there is a general store, post office, public house and a primary school. More plentiful facilities can be found at Towcester and Brackley and there is easy access to the A43 dual carriageway, which links the M40 and M1 motorways. Rail services can be found at Milton Keynes (London Euston) and Bicester (London Marylebone).
The garden is a good size, backing onto the protected Newt sanctuary and just a short walk to the Pocket park.
