Charity Champion Of The Year
We are delighted to announce that one of our employees, Gabriella Farrow, has been awarded a Corporate Charity Champion of the Year Special Commendation by our charity partner, Cancer Research. Gabriella is Marketing Assistant at Hamptons International and has been responsible for the Cancer Research partnership since she joined the business in July 2015. Hamptons International has fundraised for Cancer Research since 2013.
Gabriella works with the Hamptons International network to ensure each office hits its fundraising targets. After taking over the main handling of the partnership, she advertised for a fresh new committee through the internal magazine and is responsible for the increased involvement of regional directors and executive team alike. Gabriella arranges quarterly meetings and in 2016 oversaw a fun variety of corporate fundraising events, including three major initiatives for World Cancer Day, Donation Station and a Relay around the Regions.
For World Cancer Day, Hamptons International employees raised £14,000 by selling wristbands, with each region putting on its own local event and also collecting at a select few tube stations across London. Donation Station is an ongoing internal initiative seeing staff donate clothes - starting in spring this saw all staff donate at least one bag of clothing, which Cancer Research sold in their shops, resulting in over £11,000 being raised. The Hamptons International ‘Relay around the Regions’ saw over 300 employees travel over 1000 km in different modes of transport, from dragon boat racing to roller-skating around all of the Hamptons International branches, raising over £13,000. On a more local level, many individuals took part in sporting activities such as Race for Life and Tough Mudder, local bake sales and pub quizzes.
To date, Hamptons International has raised more than £200,000 for Cancer Research and we are excited to continue our partnership in 2017. Lesley Cairns, Managing Director of Hamptons International, says: “We are so proud that Gabriella’s hard work and commitment to our partner, Cancer Research, has been recognised. Gaby works tirelessly to engage and motivate colleagues and has helped us to raise tens of thousands of pounds as a result.
I would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who donated, those who dedicated themselves to being involved and to all who turned out to cheer us on. We have raised an amazing amount of money for a charity that has touched us all in some way and we’ve had a huge deal of fun along the way. Here’s to more of the same in 2017”
